KATC implements donor funded projects in the area of rural development, Organic Agriculture and Agroecology. Our area of work can include all provinces of Zambia. Our staff has strong expertise in situation analysis, need assessment, community sensitization, training, implementation and evaluation.

We are working in consortia with other institutions or as single partner. These are some of the projects that are currently implemented by KATC.

Multiplier Support Programme

MSP is a project funded by GIZ through Sustainability Institute (SI) the project aims to develop a needs-based MSP for Zambia focused on identified strategic multipliers in the organic agriculture/ agroecology sector. A multiplier has been defined by the KCOA as any individual, organization or institution that disseminates or passes knowledge to an end user such as a farmer or a consumer https://db.kcoa-africa.org/).

Sustainable Organic Agricultural Support Programme

Funded by The Scottish Catholic International Aid funds, the SOA support aims at improving food security and nutrition and income security for farmers.

Seed Knowledge Initiative (SKI)

Funded by SKI Bio-Watch, the project works with smallholder farmers to become more seed, food and nutritionally secure through farmer-led seed systems, improved crop diversity, agroecology (AE) and the revival of local knowledge systems. The overall SKI Phase 2 impact/development goal is Improved food security for participating farmer communities through more resilient farmer-led seed systems and agroecology.

Diploma in Agroecology

Food production systems are increasingly faced with environmental, economical, social and ethnical challenges, in the sub-Saharan Africa, these challenges are exacerbated by high rural poverty levels, low access to education, high cost of external inputs, land degradation, high production risks and fast progressing change of climate thus the goal of the program is to prepare graduates that are creative and innovative designers of food production systems that are highly productive, ecologically friendly and resilient.

Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA)

The Advocacy for diverse and climate resilient food systems in Zambia is a HIVOs funded project that aims ensure that by 2025, women, youths , local civil society and other underrepresented groups will be able to take on a central role in policy making.

Charis Project

The Charis project aims at empowering the rural community around Kasisi mostly those who are vulnerable and lack farming land, water, seed and manure.

Kasisi Agricultural Training Centre identified these small scale farmers and trained them in organic farming. Each farmer was given a 20 x 40meters of land, water, seed and manure.
