Farewell and Gratitude to Our Indian Natural Farming Pioneers

After seven fruitful months at Kasisi, we now prepare to bid farewell to the first three representatives from the Natural Farming Movement in India. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering commitment of Irfan, Siva, and Ravi, who have tirelessly worked to showcase natural farming through practical demonstrations and farmer training.

Their contribution has been nothing short of transformative. They established demonstration plots for the Maize A-Grade Model, the Vegetable A-Grade Model, and the Any Time Money Model — integrating six cash crops and fifteen biodiversity crops within one field. These models not only introduce sustainable and regenerative practices, but also bring a holistic approach that elevates both productivity and ecological balance.

While some crops, like radish—rich in antioxidants and health benefits—still await wider acceptance in Zambian markets, the groundwork laid by the team is solid. It will take further experimentation to fully adapt the models to Zambia’s climatic realities and consumer preferences, but the seeds of change have clearly been planted.

Already, we have conducted the first training sessions with partner organizations and local farmers. One can easily begin to imagine the future champion farmers in Zambia, inspired by this model of farming that honours the Earth and human well-being.

As the next Indian team prepares to arrive and continue this vital work in the coming months, we take a moment to say:

Irfan, Siva, and Ravi — thank you.
Your dedication has sown more than crops; you have sown hope, knowledge, and a vision for a better agricultural future. May the seeds you planted continue to grow and bear fruit in Zambia and beyond.

Stay blessed!
