Kasisi, 21 May 2025 — A year after the 50th Jubilee celebrations, the Kasisi Agricultural Training Centre (KATC) marked yet another milestone: the 50th meeting of its Board of Trustees. The meeting, held on 21st May 2025, was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and looking forward.
This special gathering was made even more memorable as it was the first time the Board convened in the newly inaugurated Paul Desmarais Memorial Building. The facility, designed for the training especially of the Diploma students, provides space for a soil laboratory, a library and a staff room. The building is a sign that KATC continues to grow further exploring the vision that Br. Paul had.
The Board of Trustees, which meets biannually, plays a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the institution. With gratitude, KATC acknowledged the dedication and ongoing engagement of the board members who help steer the Centre’s mission of promoting sustainable and natural farming practices across Zambia and beyond.
Various subcommittees within the Board continue their focused work in areas such as finance, legal affairs, and the protection of children and vulnerable adults—ensuring that KATC’s operations remain not only effective and accountable but also rooted in ethical and inclusive values.
As KATC looks ahead to its next 50 years, the 50th Board of Trustees meeting serves as a testament to the enduring commitment of all those who have contributed to the Centre’s journey. It is a moment of both celebration and responsibility—a call to continue building a resilient and green future for agriculture in the region.
